SASHA DOLL RE-ROOT & RE-PAINT by Jackie Rydstrom
The history of this early 70`s Sasha is unknown to me, but she`d certainly been in the wars. So after giving her a thoroughly clean and replacement cords, I re-rooted Halle with a beautiful and naturally curly brown mohair and re-painted her eyes and lips with acrylic. Halle`s hair is styled into a romantic high ponytail with lots of falling curls around her face. Her eyes are painted in a soft blue/grey and in a similar way to the no-philtrum Sasha`s of the 60`s with the shaped eyebrows. Her lips are painted in a very pale pink. Halle will come wearing a (new) textured. Fabric dress in baby-pink which has a dropped waist, fully gathered skirt, a Peter Pan collar and puffed sleeves. She also wears a coordinating leather pair of multi-coloured pink shoes. Halle is for sale with all offers welcomed with thanks. Our reborn babies by Gigi are quite real looking! They are hand made one by one and therefore they are non-returnable. Each baby takes between 25 to 40 hours to create and incorporates quality materials to bring them to life. Oil-based paints applied in 11 layers, heat set, and cooled between each layer; soft doe suede body; mohair for hair and lashes, which is micro rooted with a fine felting needle; and micro glass beads for weighting the head and bottom for the feel of a real baby. In the final stages of the process, a baby powder wafer is folded into the fiber fill of the body for that freshly-bathed baby smell. These babies range in length from 18″ – 20″ and the weight is around 4 – 5 lbs for the Alzheimer’s community. Baby girl Jackie is beautiful and is ready to be held and cared for by your loved one! Vintage Sasha Baby Doll rerooted by Jackie Rydstrom in 2012
She was rerooted by Jackie Rydstrom in 2012 and named Minnie. I believe she is a’sexed’ doll although I have not included a pic of this for obvious reasons. This is a very special baby Sasha girl with an appealing Afro type head of hair. She comes in a lovely white broderie anglaise angel top and pants and would be a very special addition to any Sasha collection.
