MDCC 2021 Dianna Effner Event Tribute Child Doll Little Darling Magalie Dawson. MDCC or Modern Doll Collectors Convention is one of the best doll events you can attend. Great people, great activities and great dolls. Dianna Effner was a big part of the convention for the past 6 or 7 years I think. She was kind, generous and took very good care of her collectors. Sadly she passed away in 2020 but she knew this was happening and she made preparations so that we could have one more year of her beautiful creations. The Guild will continue to do her dolls but Im not sure where MDCC will be in the equation. This is the Dianna Child doll to represent Dianna as a girl. Many of the elements of the costume were Dianas favorite elements. I wish I could remember the entirety of what was told to us at the welcome lunch by Magalie Dawson but Dianna for sure had a hand in the making of this doll. And tears came to most eyes when apparently Dianna was asked if she had a message for the MDCC collectors and she paused and said I wish you well. What an amazing woman caring for others as her final days approached. The doll in the photos is the doll you will get. If I still have her, a similar face sculpt was done for Ruby Red Galleria dolls by Dianna and I have a UFDC doll listed that was an edition of 50. Please note: The little hair net has been removed from the hair. The wig had slipped slightly and Magalie was so sweet and she fixed it for me. So the net is in the box, but not on the hair. Also, the brown outer shipper box does have slight damage. And the upper inside of the doll box seems to have a couple of scuff marks – I have no idea where those came from but if you are looking face front you can’t see them. If you look up at the doll you can. All of my items come from a smoke free home.
