I do hope you enjoy looking at all of the beautiful pictures. All of my photographs have been taken in my conservatory, using the’SUPER MACRO’ setting, and natural daylight only, in order that you get the closest possible likeness of the baby, without meeting her personally. I have spent a great deal of time adding many layers of translucent paints and mediums to build up Ebony’s amazing 3D skintone, which has resulted in this very realistic effect, which picks up the light without adding any shine. Her skin has a very slight textured feel, with no roughness at all. She really does seem to glow with life. I have also added tiny capillaries, milia, veins, mottling and very fine baby hair which all just adds to her ultimate realism. No roll, crease or wrinkle has been overlooked! Her amazing skin has been achieved using my own special blend of Genesis paints and mediums, which are permanent and will not fade or chip over time. Not only does this baby look like a real newborn baby girl, she also feels and smells like one too! I take great pride in this wonderful art form and use only the very best materials available I spend a great deal of time researching new techniques and ways to improve my work. My aim is to leave everyone guessing….. Is this a real newborn baby??? Ebony’s tiny mouth has been hand painted in very thin transparent layers, and then triple sealed in both satin and gloss varnish, for a natural moist look. I have also very carefully, opened her nose, and then carefully lined it with dark felt, so she can now’breathe’, giving a sense of depth and realism. Her tiny nose now looks slightly moist. The detail in Ebony’s’tiny’ fingers and toes are absolutely amazing. Laura has managed to capture so much of the detail of a real baby in the sculpt. I have delicately painted her tiny nail beds, and then tipped them in a very soft ivory, which creates a beautiful’freshly clipped’ look. From the tips of her very tiny toes, to every hair on her head, not a single detail has been missed, to make this little one, as realistic as they come! Ebony is the result of years of experience in art in one form or another, and of over ten years researching, developing and perfecting the art of reborning. Each baby starts out as a blank canvas and and is turned into a beautiful unique work of art, to be treasured for many years to come. Ebony’s hair has been’Micro Rooted’ using a very tiny 42g needle, and the softest premium mohair. Her hair has been carefully rooted in a natural growth pattern, finishing with a lovely swirling crown. Each hair has been secured with waterproof glue on the inside of her head, so it can be gently dampened and styled as you wish. This hair really does have to been seen to be believed! Ebony is a sleeping baby, therefore her lashes have been micro rooted to match her hair colour perfectly. Moisture has also been applied for added realism. She also has barely there, slightly textured baby eyebrows, which compliment her hair colour perfectly. Baby Ebony has the most perfectly detailed full arms and legs, and an anatomically correct female torso. Her hands and feet, have been carefully weighted, using fine glass beads, and then carefully topped with the softest fibre. I have also weighted her soft cloth body with a combination of baby fat and very soft fibre, which makes her easy to pose and very cuddly too. Her little head has been weighted, and will need supporting, just as you would a real newborn baby. Her head will turn from side to side with ease. Not only is she a realistic looking baby, she has also been very realistically weighted and now weighs 4lb 3oz and fits perfectly into size Newborn baby clothes. She now looks, feels and smells just like a real newborn baby. My babies are created and cared for in a smoke and pet free environment. It is also worth noting that baby Ebony does have a dummy, And therefore contains magnets. These magnets are very’small’ and’very’ strong. Please be aware around pacemakers, memory chips, credit cards etc. Ebony is now considered a collectors item, therefore he is not suitable for young children. Lorraine X And of course Baby Ebony.
