This beautiful, sleeping reborn baby doll is an authentic reborn “Romy”, as sculpted by Gudrun Legler. Gudrun’s name is impressed into the vinyl neck of the doll. See the last photo. I have the signed Certificate of Authenticity and “Birth Certificate” for this reborn baby doll. Romy has spent her time here as a display doll only. We, her collector parents, have taken great care with her. She is presented to you as a little reborn newborn girl, but she is equally adorable as a baby boy. Otherwise, I will assume you want to dress Romy as a little girl. This morning we took Romy outside on the deck for some truly natural lighting. Her abundant mottling and veining is clearly visible in bright light. Of course, we collectors do not leave our reborns in such conditions. Just as we would never leave a newborn baby in a hot car or sitting for long periods in direct sunlight, neither should we treat a reborn baby doll this way. Some of the paints and adhesives used in your new baby doll are subject to deterioration under these conditions. Below are more details about this high-quality, very detailed version of Romy. Weight is 4.4lbs. Length is 19 with bent legs. She wears newborn clothing in most brands, and some larger preemie clothes. She has been painted in many layers with GHSP and sealed with matte varnish. Her skin feels smooth, and is mottled and veined. Her nails are painted and tipped. Her pink lips have a very subtle shine and are not glossy. Romy has closed eyes. Her lashes are beautifully hand-rooted, as is her head-full of micro-rooted blonde mohair. She is weighted with very tiny, contained glass beads, and stuffed with high-quality fine fiberfill throughout for a realistic soft and cuddly feel. Much like a real, newborn human baby, she cannot sit up unaided and it is necessary to support her head and back when you lift her. You can see from the photos of her without clothing that her body is not firmly packed. If you prefer a more substantial feel to your babies, it is easy to add additional fiberfill or poly-fil. As for myself, I think Romy feels just right for her intended tender age. Romy has full limbs on a fully jointed, doe-suede cloth body. This makes her very flexible and easy to dress. A magnet for a pacifier was placed. Inside of her head. Use necessary caution around electronic equipment and anyone with medical magnets, such as pacemakers. Romy will arrive with her authentic COA signed by Gudrun Legler and her ” Birth Certificate ” signed by her reborn artist. These documents will be at the top of the box. The reborn baby doll will be wrapped in a fluffy blanket, surrounded by soft packages and/or bubble wrap. She will be wearing a white onesie to be left on her to protect her. Body, a diaper and a footed sleeper to protect her feet and limbs. A diaper will cover her head and face for added protection. She will have at least one, and probably 3 or 4, extra outfits. Depending on the fabric’s ease of wrinkling, these outfits may be laid above the baby doll so they will remain ready to wear. I dress my girls almost exclusively in dresses or sleepers, so that is most likely what you will receive as your adoption gift. They may be new or gently used, and will be taken from my own collection of baby clothes. Having said that, I have a couple of cute rompers that Romy has worn in the past. Romy will have socks and booties for her feet. A magnetic pacifier will come with her, but it should only be used as a photo prop. Hair-bands and/or clips and a small stuffed toy will be included. Romy is suitable for adult collectors aged 17 years and up. This reborn doll was made to be loved from afar! Treat her as though she were an actual infant but without the bathing! My home is smoke-free and pet friendly. We share our home with one 25-lb dog who is separated from the dolls. Never-the-less, you are bound to acquire a dog hair or two during the packing process.
