Realborn Owen Reborn Doll
This is the first Reborn Doll I’ve painted, meaning there will be flaws in the painting as well as other imperfections. I’m not entirely happy with how the weight distribution turned out, though that is easy to change if you choose to. I chose to use this material because I’ve heard that it’s safer than the alternatives which may cause harmful dust to escape the doll. The limbs and neck were sealed with adhesive Moleksin for easy access if you wish to change the beads. Air dry pains were used in the painting of this doll, as opposed to heat set. A mixture of Liquitex acrylics and various crafts paints, and sealed twice over with DecoArt Media ultra matte varnish. I cannot guarantee that the paint will hold up as well as purely professional paints would. While the painting may be considered alright for a first timer, please keep in mind that this baby was my first attempt so you shouldn’t expect the highest quality. This baby has no hair, eyelashes, or eyebrows, so if you choose to have hair rooted or painted, the color is completley up to you with no need to change anything that I’ve done. The body of this doll has a small tear near the neck, it is hidden by clothing and doesn’t effect the doll. Photos can be provided upon request. KIT: Realborn Sleeping Owen by Bountiful Baby.
