Full Body Reborn Maddux- Doll Therapy for People with Alzheimer & Caregiver
Our reborn babies by Gigi are quite real looking! They are hand made one by one and are therefore non-returnable. Each baby takes between 25 to 40 hours to create and incorporates quality materials to bring them to life. Oil-based paints applied in 11 layers, heat set, and cooled between each layer; soft doe suede and silicone body; mohair for hair and lashes, which is micro rooted with a fine felting needle; and micro glass beads for weighting the head and bottom for the feel of a real baby. In the final stages of the process, a baby powder wafer is folded into the fiber fill of the body for that freshly-bathed baby smell. These babies range in length from 18″ – 20″ and the weight is around 4 – 5 lbs for the Alzheimer’s community. Sleeping baby Maddux is amazing! She was given hand micro rooted curly auburn red hair. It was rooted a couple of hairs at a time for a natural look that can be gently combed with hand applied eyelashes. She has beautiful blue eyes. Jocelyn has 3/4 limbs and her custom made soft cloth body has pivoting joints to make her feel “floppy”, giving the feel like a real baby. She has been weighted with micro fine glass beads, poly pellets, and soft poly fil. Her head is also floppy, so it will need to be supported just like a real baby. Baby powder scent has been added for the gentle soft smell of a newborn. Genesis heat set paints were applied in multiple layers to give a true to life 3D skin tone with attention to delicate just below the surface veining and other infant subtleties. Her manicured finger and toe nails have been sealed with a light gloss. Her nostrils have not been opened to guarantee the integrity of the vinyl, instead they have been shaded and moistened to add depth and character for a realistic look.
