Vinyl 1950’s Baby Doll 20 Dark Brown Hair Large Green Eyes 3 Piece Outfit CUTIE
I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U. I’m offering today an adorable and larger size baby doll from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s era. She stands approximately 20 tall. She is made of vinyl, which is jointed at the neck, arms and legs. Her legs are bent like a baby, but she can stand well too. She has straight dark brown hair which is cut into a baby bob with bangs. She has been washed and sanitized prior to dressing her. I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at the top of her head, she has dark brown rooted hair, which I have put a simple red bow on the top of her head. On top of that, she is wearing a brim hat which matches her adorable outfit. As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows. She has lovely green eyes, which open and close freely. She has her original eyelashes which have been spared the wrath of her previous little mommies. It seemed back in the 50’s little girls loved to give their dollies hair cuts and they also loved trimming their eye lashes. Thank goodness, this one was spared the scissors by the many little mommies who have played with her over the years. Her eyes look straight at you with such a sweet stare. She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her precious open mouth. Her lips are painted a bright red color. She does have a hole in her mouth for a bottle, but I do not know if it works or not. I do not give my dolls liquids for fear of doing something I should not have done. I’ll leave that up to her new mommy. Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful coloring, which really enhances those beautiful eyes she has. As I mentioned above, there are no markings on her neck or body to identify who she was made by. When I was a young girl in the 50’s, many of my classmates had beautiful long brown hair with lots of curls and when they would wear red colors, I was so jealous because my hair was very blonde; almost platinum color and very straight. I wanted so badly to have dark brown or black hair so I could be like the other girls. Now as I’m older, many ladies tell me they have to pay hundreds of dollars to have my blonde hair. I digress, but when I get a dark hair dolly, I always want to dress her in red, some form or the other. I made this blue and white stripe cotton dress with a large collar and framed the collar with red rick-rack. To compliment the collar and red rick-rack, I appliqued strawberries and yellow flowers, which I think, really enhances the outfit. Don’t you think so? The collar flows over the top of the bodice and goes all the way around to the back side of the dress. The sleeves are short Cinderella style which come down just below her elbow area. As you go around to the back side of the dress, there are three white buttons to keep the dress in place. The dress is very simple in design and comes down to just above her knees. I finished the hem off with two rows of adorable white gathered lace. Under her dress, she is wearing the white and blue stripe pattern bloomers as that of her dress. Her bonnet has the blue and white cotton stripe fabric, with a white brim, which I completed the top of the brim with red rick-rack. I put red and white polka dotted grosgrain ribbon for the ties, which are tied into a bow under her neck. She is wearing bright red Mary Jane shoes, which come from my personal doll shoe collection. She is so sweet and will make someone very happy. My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough. My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy. All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I’ve tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth having; for each one is like children….. They are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I’ve missed something it would never be intentional. This vintage baby doll is a larger doll measuring approximately 20 tall. This doll is vintage, but in what I would consider good condition. Her body has been cleaned and sanitized. Her dark brown hair has been washed and styled. Her eyes open/close freely with her original eyelashes. She is jointed and poses quite nicely. She has all her fingers and toes. Her dress was made just for her. The photos really tell the story about this doll. She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind. Please view complete set of photos for thorough description. I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.
