Rare SAMIRA Steiff by Gotz All Vinyl Child Doll (2003) German Made, no papers
Rare SAMIRA “Steiff by Gotz” All Vinyl Child Doll (2003) German Made, no papers. Introducing SAMIRA from 2003, a wonderfully made all-vinyl German doll by Steiff and Gotz, both renowned doll manufacturers. SAMIRA is considered rare and hard to find. She stands about 23″ tall, is marked “Gotz 662″ on her neck and “Gotz 279 on her back. She is wearing her complete original outfit (with a few tweaks). Samira’s other outfit pieces include a floral top, rose colored skirt with attached slip, sheer hose, panties, pink socks and soft faux suede black tie-up booty like shoes. Samira has natural looking rooted long blonde hair and her face is perfectly sculpted and painted for the child doll that she is. Her eyes are the first thing you notice, radiant blue with real upper lashes. I see no issues with the doll or her outfit. I know she is a limited edition doll but no papers were with her so I don’t know how limited the Samira collection was, or her number in the series. I do know she is a very beautiful child doll. I changed up Samira’s hair a little bit, added a braid with firefly accent at the back and switched out the barrette for a firefly at the side. The original barrette is in the box. I added the seashell necklace to accent her jacket and top. Her original Steiff box (brown color for 2003) is 26 long, a little bent, has a couple of small tears, and the closure tab looks worn. I have tape repaired these issues and it looks much better. There are a lot of pictures so please zoom in and enjoy each one. The doll is in great condition, stands on her own, is quite beautiful, and photogenic. Everything is here except her original papers.
