14 Vintage Atlanta Novelty Black/African American Musical GERBER Baby Doll (X)
14 Vintage Atlanta Novelty Musical GERBER Baby Plush Doll! I hesitate to use the word “rare”, but I have never seen this doll before and couldn’t find another one like it anywhere on the internet! I did find a couple examples of the caucasian version, but never the black one, and certainly not in the pristine condition that this one is in! This baby looks as though she came straight out of the toy shop! She looks perfectly brand new in every way. Her plush body is white and soft with no matting whatsoever. Her body tag is stiff and shiny. Wind her metal knob and it plays “Rock-a-bye Baby” a little slowly–not sure if this is because I didn’t wind it very much or if this is the speed at which it’s supposed to play, but I didn’t want to chance overwinding this nearly perfect doll! Her fully lashed brown eyes function perfectly. Unlike the more commonly found Gerber Baby dolls, her eyes do not move side to side–only open and close. I believe her original satin ribbon has never been untied from around her neck. I don’t see any flaws with this baby at all! She is simply precious and adorable and a MUST HAVE for the serious Gerber Baby doll collector. You will likely never find another baby like this, and certainly not in this condition. I have priced this baby high because I think she is so hard to find and in such wonderful condition. If she doesn’t sell, I will not be sorry! Non-smoking but Pet-friendly home.
